v2.3.8

Free trials, smoother map editing, and longer sessions

Hobby and Pro plans now offer a free trial with no upfront charge. The map editor has been improved with smoother camera transitions, persistent labels, and a loading indicator during route calculations. Sessions have been extended to 30 days.

Free Trial

You can now try Hobby or Pro before you pay. Start a free trial from the upgrade modal, and your card won’t be charged until the trial ends.

  • Trial status at a glance. The subscription page shows how many trial days are left and when the first charge will happen.
  • Switch plans mid-trial. Upgrading from Hobby to Pro (or vice versa) during a trial carries the remaining days forward.
  • Cancel anytime. Cancelling keeps your paid features active until the trial period ends, then returns you to Basic.

Map Editor

The map editor is smoother and more informative.

  • “Calculating” overlay. A loading indicator replaces the blank screen while a route is being calculated.
  • Stable labels. Map labels no longer vanish when a route line appears.
  • Smooth camera. The camera fades between positions instead of jumping.
  • Elevation chart starts collapsed. Expand it when you need it; it stays out of the way when you don’t.
  • Address in waypoint tooltips. Unnamed waypoints now show their address on hover.
  • Plan limit warning. If you’re approaching your tier’s waypoint limit, a nudge appears inline next to the waypoint count.
  • Smarter elevation numbers. Large values are abbreviated (12.4k ft) and equal gain/loss shows as a single +/- value.

Quality of Life

  • 30-day sessions. Sessions now last 30 days instead of 7, so you won’t have to sign in as often.
  • Branded emails. Transactional emails now include the Plot Along logo and a link home.
  • Smarter map copies. Duplicating an untitled map generates a date-based name instead of “Untitled (copy)”.
