v2.5.5
Real-time presence on shared maps, a trash for restoring deleted routes, and faster load times
Plot Along 2.5.5 adds real-time presence on shared maps, more reliable collaboration sync, a trash that lets you restore deleted routes within 30 days, and faster load times.
Real-time presence and collaboration
- Live presence. When someone else opens a shared map, their avatar appears so you can see who is viewing the route. Avatars update as people join and leave.
- More reliable sync. The editor recovers after more types of disconnects and preserves more changes.
- Collaborator removal. Remove yourself from maps and receive access changes from admins faster.
Trash for deleted routes
- Deleted routes go to the trash. Deleting a route puts it in the trash instead of removing it entirely.
- Restore within 30 days. You can restore a route from the trash any time within 30 days. After that, trashed routes are purged automatically.
- Plan limits. Trashing a route frees space against your plan limit right away.
Faster loading and automatic updates
- Faster first load. Pages render sooner and connect to the asset host ahead of time, so maps and routes appear faster on a first visit.
- Automatic updates. If you added Plot Along to your home screen, it updates to the latest release right away the next time you open it.
Other changes
- Reveal password. The sign in, register and change password forms have a toggle to show what you typed.
- Map rotation on shared maps. The public map view now supports bearing rotation.
- Elevation in exports. GPX and GeoJSON exports now include per-point elevation.
- Cleaner map cards. Dashboard description snippets no longer show raw Markdown characters.
- Avatar fallback. Profiles without a name show an icon and email instead of an empty circle.
- Default share metadata. Maps without a title or description now get default share and search metadata.
