v2.6.7

Plan more precisely with route shaping points, plus more map and dashboard improvements

2.6.7 adds shaping points and redesigned map cards that show each map’s waypoint count, distance and trip time. Smart placement of new waypoints now uses road distance and travel time instead of straight-line distance. It also brings a simplified map view for collaborators invited as viewers.

Shaping points

A shaping point is a waypoint the route passes through without stopping. Use shaping points to plot the route along a particular road while your stops keep their numbers.

  • Once the route has a stop, right-click or long-press an empty spot on the map and choose Shape route to add a shaping point.
  • Choose Pass through in a waypoint’s menu to turn a stop into a shaping point, or Make stop to turn it back.
  • Distance and time in the sidebar are measured from one stop to the next, across any shaping points in between.
  • GPX and KML exports list only stops as waypoints, though the route line still passes through every shaping point.

Adding and editing waypoints

  • Add stop places a new stop at the position that adds the least road distance and travel time, unless you choose Start or End.
  • The Options button on each sidebar row opens the same menu as right-clicking that waypoint’s marker on the map.
  • Click a waypoint’s name in the sidebar to rename it.

Sharing and collaboration

  • Edit a route’s title and description from the Link tab of the share panel.
  • The map view has been simplified for collaborators invited as viewers, who now see the saved route without the controls for changing waypoints.
  • Each collaborator has one color for their cursor, their avatar and their entry in the list of people on the map.

Plans and Account

  • Clearer limit messages for collaborators on routes they don’t own.
  • Improved messaging on the Account and Settings pages.
  • Write to us from the new feedback form on the Account page.

Fixes & Polish

  • Map cards show the waypoint count, distance and trip time, with the date created or last updated to match the sort order.
  • Trash now has an Empty trash button.
  • A stop that a collaborator adds mid-route appears in the right position for everyone.
  • Small fixes to satellite labels, the collaborator limit count and the plan list.
